Covid-19 Protective Barriers Manufacturing

LMP Termoformatura is a company firmly rooted in Lombardy, which has been the first and most affected region in Italy for what concerns the health emergency due to the Covid-19 virus spread across the globe. Faced with this plight, our decades of experience in thermoforming cannot remain unspent.

So we decided to produce anti-COVID barriers in order to protect people from Covid-19 infection – especially in working spaces.

Anti-droplet protective barriers are transparent screens that can protect against sneezing and coughing, working as a separation barrier from customers and users – when used in shops and offices. More and more commercial establishments, such as drugstores and supermarkets, are installing these anti-Covid barriers at their places: the protective anti-COVID barriers, in fact, allow a full range of motion inside stores while maintaining a proper defense against the virus transmission. We decided to put our extensive experience in the thermoforming process at the health emergency containment service to help workers and people be active and safe, even in public places such as offices and shops.

The Coronavirus protection made of plexiglass

We can produce COVID barriers made of plexiglass or methacrylate. The protective devices can be installed on counters and checkout desks as screening between the front-office operator and the users, or between a workspace and the other to maintain the proper distance between employees – which is crucial in the anti-contagion prophylaxis.

We designed the anti-COVID barriers for some specific manufacturing processes:

• Vacuum thermoforming: starting from a plexiglass or methacrylate sheet, we can obtain workpieces and components perfectly shaped on a mould. This moulding technique can operate with pressure or vacuum: vacuum forming is the very core business of our company, which can boast a few decades of specific expertise;
• Production of special sheets or blocks: if you need a colored anti-COVID barrier or a series of anti-Covid barriers with embedded elements, we can make available special features or customized plastic sheets or blocks. The vacuum forming process allows, in fact, small series production at competitive rates: starting from rapid prototyped models and moulds, it’s quite easy to fully respond to the client needs, even at different stages of production;
• CNC machining: we use CNC machinery for cutting and trimming, which allows us to produce pieces and components that don’t need further finishing. Our CNC machinery relies on less than a millimeter sensitivity.

We are putting the whole experience gained in decades of plastic thermoforming production at the service of the Coronavirus emergency on a global scale. Indeed, our production of protective barriers is not exclusive to the Italian market: LMP is serving clients all around Europe and exporting Italian-designed COVID barriers to the Americas and Asia.

If the most important thing we’re bound to do is the containment of the virus’ spread, then the proper job of specialized companies is to be at the service of people and workers’ health.
