Termoformatura LMP
Since the late-70s, our firm philosophy is based on a close cooperation relationship with the clients. In our vision, the customer experience is a major asset to analyse, understand, and incorporate into the manufacturing process to obtain the best results regarding quality and costs management.
Accompanied by our high specialization in thermoforming, this way of working is our strength: it is what makes us special in the eyes of important customers such as Cagiva, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha Italia, in our small company dimension. Yamaha Suisse, Lombardini Motori, Selva Marine, Sacs, Fiat Hitachi, Cranchi Cantieri nautici, Bremach vehicles, SIAC, etc.

Vacuum Thermoforming
Vacuum thermoforming is a process used on an industrial basis for the processing of plastics, very widespread as it is extremely precise, effective, and economical when compared to other production processes on an industrial scale.
Thermoforming involves heating a plate or sheet of plastic material which is applied to a mold when it is sufficiently hot and malleable. The application of the vacuum, or vacuum, completes the operation by making the plate adhere perfectly to the mold.
Once the plastic material has cooled and stabilized, the thermoformed sheet is separated from the mold.

CNC Machinery in the Thermoforming Process
The thermoforming process implies the need to cut and trim the formed shapes, for they appear as protruding surfaces of a flat sheet of plastic material.
The separation of the single formed pieces from the original plastic sheet can be operated manually, with a whipsaw and other cutting tools, or in a more rapid and precise way through the use of CNC machinery.
Some products, which require a particularly complex cutting and trimming process, need to be processed with automated systems such as CNC cutters and trimmers. Due to the use of CNC machinery, the manufacturing process can reach high levels of precision and speed, incomparable to any handwork results.

Models and Prototypes Manufacturing
The design of patterns, prototypes, and models represents the first step for any thermoforming production process. The model serves as a test for the ultimate mold, the one that will be used to shape the workpiece through vacuum forming: for it has to accurately reproduce the final piece, the design and the building of the mold is a crucial step in the economy of the whole manufacturing process. That’s why we often go for a temporary model before getting to actual production.
Models can be made of wood, resins, or aluminum, depending on the particular processing needs.
We can build models and molds up to 4800/2600/1200 mm, maintaining high-quality finishing standards.

Mold Design and Production
Depending on the final item to produce (dimensions, materials, production quantity, etc.), it can be possible to go directly for the mold design, skipping the actual modeling step.
The direct implementation of molds allows, within the thermoforming process, a considerable time and costs saving: that is made possible due to the flexibility and the accuracy of CNC machinery CAD-CAM systems. Still, the design of molds typically represents the second step of the overall process of vacuum thermoforming.
